For the past five years, the New Orleans Community Printshop has been facilitating both Youth and Adult Silkscreen Workshops, Field Trips, and Demonstrations in the Greater New Orleans Area. Funded through generous grants from Transforma Projects, Entergy New Orleans, and the Arts Council of New Orleans,  these workshops have helped students and community members build silkscreen skills, develop imagery and ideas, and realize their fine art and entrepreneurial silkscreen projects.

Our most recent field trip (February 2017) was a tour of the Mickalene Thomas exhibit at Newcomb with New Orleans artist Osa Atoe.

If you would like to schedule a field trip – please e-mail with the heading ‘Field Trip’ and we can schedule your school/organization!  No transportation is provided.  Rates vary, but some funding is available!

Our Youth Program went to Tulane University to hang out with Pippin, a former NOLA Community Printshop Member. They examined algae in a microscope and then used the etching press to print some hand-carved wood cuts.
