Since 2009, the New Orleans Community Printshop has been facilitating both Youth and Adult Silkscreen Workshops, Field Trips, and Demonstrations in the Greater New Orleans Area.  Our programming has been funded in the past by generous grants from Transforma Projects, Cox New Orleans, and the Arts Council of New Orleans, Joan Mitchell Foundation, these workshops have helped students and community members build silkscreen skills, develop imagery and ideas, and realize their fine art and entrepreneurial silkscreen projects.

Our most recent field trip (February 2017) was a tour of the Mickalene Thomas exhibit at Newcomb with New Orleans artist Osa Atoe.

We offer two types of Field Trips:

  • onsite: students visit us at the Printshop
  • offsite: Printshop Members travel to the school, organization, or facility

For pricing information and scheduling field trips – please e-mail with the heading ‘Field Trip’ and we can schedule your school/organization!  No transportation is provided.

Our Youth Program went to Tulane University to hang out with Pippin, a former NOLA Community Printshop Member. They examined algae in a microscope and then used the etching press to print some hand-carved wood cuts.
