INTERESTED IN EXHIBITING AT THE NEW ORLEANS PRINTSHOP GALLERY?

The New Orleans Community Printshop and Darkroom Gallery rotates monthly.  Gallery exhibition submissions are juried collectively, and with a consensus voting process, so the review process may take some time.  In order for the collective to properly decided on exhibitions, we ask that interested Artists/Curators submit their proposals at least two (2) months in advance.  You will be notified of acceptance within a month of submission.  The Gallery is typically booked three, or more, months in advance.

Only Members can curate / host / sign up for shows.  Interested parties outside of the Printshop must contact a Member to act as their exhibition liason.  Once you have a Printshop Member who is willing to spearhead your exhibition, please email the following information to communityprintshop@gmail.com:

▪Artist statement
▪Resume
▪15 – 20 images of your work.
▪Image Requirements: maximum dimension 900 pixels, 72 dpi, jpeg format
▪Label each image with medium & size
▪Contact Information

Once approved, our Gallery Coordinator will request that all materials to be submitted for publication at least four (4) weeks before the exhibition opening.  We will publish event information on our monthly newsletter, website, social media, and issue press releases to select organizations.  However, we ask that all Artists take the time to advertise their exhibitions as well.

All Artists are also required to publish postcards/ handbills for their show and submit them to the Printshop for posting at least four (4) weeks before the exhibition opening.

All sales must be made through the Printshop.  The Printshop retains a 40% commission, with 60% of each sale as the Artist’s share.  All sales fees are the responsibility of the Printshop.

The Printshop will provide a cash bar.  All other refreshments are the responsibility of the Artist.

Each Artist is required to donate a print to the Printshop for our future art auctions, which function as fundraising for the Printshop.
