mission
The New Orleans Community Printshop & Darkroom (NOCPD) provides the greater New Orleans community with public access to affordable printmaking, darkroom and art-making equipment, training, and services. NOCPD helps independent artists & community members grow in their artistic practice through printmaking & educational opportunities for adults and youth regardless of ability to pay.
HOW WE WORk
The NOCPD is a volunteer-based collective that aims to have a structure that is highly transparent & non-hierarchical. We organize sharing responsibility, implementing programming, and events open to the public, shop maintenance, and for administrative tasks, such as website upkeep and grant-writing. We seek to create a supportive community for volunteers and members; we come together monthly to present the whole collective with different ideas and updates, to make group decisions, and to welcome new or prospective members.
